The Family Bible

I have inherited Grandma and Grandpa's old family Bible. It is a beautiful large book that has lots of commentary and other information in addition to the Old and New Testaments. I learned last Saturday that it also has some family information, so I thought I would post pictures to share with all of you this special find. The first page, shown above, details the marriage of William Alexander Bee and Mary Haddock on November 20, 1883.

The next page, shown below, gives the birth dates and names, and blessing years and baptism years, for those who were baptized, for their children, William Richard Bee, Margaret Georgina Bee, Jesse Clarence Bee, Archie Earl Bee, John George Bee, and Phylis Pearl Bee.

The last page shows the deaths in the family. William Alexander Bee, Jesse Clarence Bee, John George Bee, Phylis Pearl Bee, and Marry Haddock Bee. The death dates are also given.
I know this is not a complete record, and that this information is probably available elsewhere, but it is special to me to have it in a family Bible. The handwriting is beautiful and the story it tells is sad as three of the six children died before their parents, two at less than a year old and one at just under three years old. What a tough life this family lived! I wanted to share this wonderful find with everybody. I hope it means something to you also.

My Missionaries

Now that my little sis is back from her mission, I have been missing writing to a missionary. Now I'll have TWO. My parents were just called to the Des Moines, Iowa mission. They report to the MTC on August 3rd. I'm so proud of my missionaries!!

Family pictures

Yesterday morning we were able to get our family pictures taken at a park. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of good pictures we were able to get because the kids did not want to cooperate. Anyway, here are a few of my favorites. It feels so good to have new family pictures. Now all I have to do is get them printed and in frames.
